What I've been up to...

I know women are supposed to be good at multitasking.

I am NOT.

I find it very difficult to channel my creative energy into multiple outlets simultaneously.

Hence, dropping the ball with my, er - latest blog series.

I do apologize about that. I got very busy making Christmas gifts and then launching my latest venture:

My Etsy shop!

I made a bunch of clay refrigerator magnets for my family and some sculptures for my brother's kids...

Leaf imprint magnets. So easy and fun to make.

The resin sculptures were not so easy, but still a lot of fun

I remembered how much I enjoy working with clay.

So I decided to create more things. And then a few more.

I've been wanting to open an Etsy shop for awhile, but I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to sell.

So I've listed a few items, and we'll see how things go.

I don't expect to be raking in the cash, but it would be nice to make a little money from such an enjoyable hobby.

Of course, a clay project of any kind takes considerable time, even though I am a stay-at-home-mom.

An active and inquisitive 2-year-old requires a lot of attention (and likes to "sculpt" too), so I have to work at a slow pace.

Pressed plant pendants are fun to make (and rather simple, too):

But my favorite projects are animal sculpture. There's nothing more satisfying (or frustrating) than trying to breathe life into an inanimate substance, giving it character and a personality.

So I really will try to get  back on my bird series, but most of my free moments are currently immersed in sculpting, so I can't make any promises.

In other news, our house is finally ready for priming and painting, and we will be starting on that this week.

I'll try not to let so much time lapse until my next post.

So be sure to check out my shop and let me know what you think!

Oh, and if you would like me to sculpt you something, don't hesitate to ask. :)

You may just have to wait awhile......
